CIF-SS Boys Division V-AA Bracket Updated:
Semifinals Tonight--(Feb. 28, 2003)

We're already at the next to the last set of games, and tonight will see the semifinals of Division V-AA.   In the upper half of the bracket, No. 1 seed Rolling Hills Prep, the defending champions will take on Riverside Christian at Arlington HS (it's an "alternate site" selected by the host team, Riverside Christian).  The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m.   In the other half of the bracket, the other semifinal will feature Pacific Hills against Apple Valley Christian in a game played at Granite Hills HS (again an "alternate site" selected by host team Apple Valley).

Rolling Hills Prep 86, Linfield Christian 43 --Curtis Allen registered a triple-double with 25 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists to lead host Rolling Hills Prep (18-8).

Hesperia Christian 63, La Sierra Academy 58 --Aja Ajanwachuku had 23 points for Hesperia Christian (19-7). Giorgio Zamorano had 25 points for host La Sierra Academy (20-6).

New Roads 68, Granada Hills Hillcrest Christian 64 --Chris Cannon scored 22 points and Evan Norrington added 14 points to lead visiting New Roads (17-8).

Riverside Christian 55, Buckley 52 --Ryan Klix had 17 points for Riverside Christian in a first-round upset victory at No. 4-seeded Buckley (16-9). Roger Gorog led the Griffins with 15 points.

Pacific Hills 37, Villanova Prep 36--Deric Davis scored 12 points to lead visiting Pacific Hills (16-12).

Holy Martyrs 54, Trona 48--

Lone Pine 95, Upland Christian 75 --Randall Barbour scored 34 and Wayne Geiger added 25 points to lead host Lone Pine (20-3).

Apple Valley Christian 70, Thacher 50 --Kevin Dillon scored 33 points to lead host Apple Valley Christian (21-2).


Quarterfinal Games--(Listed in Bracket Order)--Played Tuesday, February 25, 2003:

Rolling Hills Prep 91, Hesperia Christian 75 --Aja Ajanwachuku had 33 points for Hesperia Christian. D.J. Wright had 27 points and 10 assists and Curtis Allen had 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for top-seeded Rolling Hills Prep (19-8).

Pacific Hills 50, Holy Martyrs 38 --Frank Henry-Ala scored 17 points for Pacific Hills (17-12).

Riverside Christian 47, New Roads 44 --

Apple Valley Christian 73, Lone Pine 52 --Kevin Dillon had 26 points for second-seeded Apple Valley Christian. Randall Barbour led host Lone Pine (20-4) with 20 points.


All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office.  Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host].  Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
