Boys Division V-A: 1st Round
Game Details--(Feb 17, 2000)

Here are the game details from Division V-A's first round games, at least the few we could find, from the first round games played on Wednesday, February 16.  When you get to D-VA, it's pretty hard to find details, but we've got some.

West LA Baptist 62, Westmark 45--no one called in the boxes, so all we've got is the score.

Wilson Creek 70, Cal Lutheran 64--Normally, the Riverside Press-Enterprise would have details of this game, but with all the bigger schools also in action, we guess this one just got pushed aside and we couldn't find any details anywhere. Sorry. If anyone has them, send them in.

Rolling Hills Prep 78, First Lutheran 49--Micah Douglass scored a team-high 19 points and Kyle Rose added 17 points with 15 rebounds to lead the host Huskies (14-10).  Roc Perry and Alex Elliott added 10 points each as Rolling Hills took a 17-point lead at halftime and cruised to victory.

Orangewood Academy 85, Stoneridge Prep 72--Zach Jones had 17 points and Warren Tamana had 15 to lead host Orangewood Academy (13-9), which plays at Big Pine in the second round on Friday.

Big Pine--bye

Nat 8 an d10 rebounds and 6 assists, Amrit Nat had 14 and 8 rebvounds, Knapp 1, Newnham 2, Hodgkins 3, Martino 17 and 12 rebounds and 4 steals, Parker 7 and Nessim 4.   Christian Center Academy was led by Myles with 21, Leggeti 2, Meijia 2, Knox 1, Torres 14, Ilderton 3, and Fults 8.  CCA finishes the season at 9-13, while GH Hillcrest is now 16-9 overall and will continue on to the second round on Friday.

Southwestern Academy--bye

Antelope Valley Christian--bye

Mesrobian 83, Owens Valley 55--Couldn't find a thing on this game anywhere.

Shandon 82, Santa Clarita Christian 67--Ditto. Nothing on this game either in any of the local media.

Tarbut v' Torah 523, Maricopa 49--Noam Dashti made two free throws with six seconds left to seal the victory for host Tarbut V'Torah.   Freshman Steven Eghbali scored eight points in the fourth quarter for the Lions (19-4).  Tanner Bral had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Matan Abel had 12 points and 17 rebounds for Tarbut V'Torah, which plays West Valley Christian in a second-round game.

West Valley Christian 79, Newbury Park Adventist 63--West Valley was led by the following scorers: Behroozi 13, Settle 19, Siren 20, Bell 26, Carter 0;  Newbury Park scorers were Casali 23 and 9  rebounds, Heidt 17, Fowler 15 and 4 steals, P. Davis 10, Tetz 1 and Saesin 3.  Newbury Park finishes out the season at 11-4.

Immanuel Christian 68, Trinity Lutheran 38--Again, this was one of those games that evidently didn't get reported due to the larger schools using up all the newsprint and all the ink. . . . Maybe they'll report the second round game against Heritage.

Heritage (Eastside) Christian--bye
