Albert Miller Signing With
UC Irvine Confirmed--(Apr. 29, 2000)

A few days ago we reported that Recruiting USA had announced that Albert Miller (6'-3" So. SG) had signed with UC Irvine, but at the time, there was no official word from the school confirming the signing.  Of course that meant one of several things: 1) the report was in error,  2) the school had not received Miller's signed LOI by the time R-USA made the announcment, or 3) the UCI sports info people just hadn't gotten around to officially making the announcment.

We're please to report that it wasn't #1, and whether it was a case of not receiving the LOI or simply not getting around to making the announcment timely, the school has now issued an official press release confirming that it has signed Miller, who originally signed with Washington State two years ago out of Westchester High School but who failed to qualify academically at that time.   Miller has been at LACC this past season.

Here's the brief announcement issued by the Anteaters:

ALBERT MILLER SIGNS WITH UC IRVINE MEN’S BASKETBALL PROGRAM

4/28/00 IRVINE, Calif. --- Albert Miller, a 6-3 guard, has signed a national letter of intent with the UC Irvine men’s basketball program. Miller averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game at Los Angeles City College this past season. He was a first team All-South Coast Conference selection for the Cubs, who won the conference title and advanced to the state community-college tournament en route to a 34-3 season. Miller played on a state championship team at Westchester High School in 1998, averaging 15 points that season. He is UCI’s second signee this spring, joining guard Mike Hood from College of Southern Idaho. Head coach Pat Douglass signed two players in November: 7-1 Dave Korfman (Mira Costa College) and 6-9 Stanislav Zuzak (Czech Republic).
