Cal State Northridge Signs
Two More Yesterday--(May 16, 2000)
Well, just when we thought Head Coach Bobby Braswell and his staff, notably associate head coach Mike Johnson, and assistant coaches Eric Brown and Andre Chevalier were finished for the season with their lone signing of Joey Busch (6'-8" So. F/C ) a JUCO transfer, they pull a couple more out of the hat on the final signing day. Cal State Northridge has announced that they've received signed LOI's from two more players:
Sidney Hampton (6'-3" Sr. SG) from Moreno Valley Valley View HS, a smooth shooter who averaged 21 ppg this past season, led his team to the Division I-AA "Sweet 16" round of the Southern Section playoffs (where they lost to Rialto by three points), and who was selected All-League
Gene Myvett (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF) from Littlerock HS has also signed with Northridge. Myvett averaged 25 ppg, 8.7 rebounds and 5.4 steals a game and led his high school team to their first playoff victory (over Buena Park in the first round of the Division II-AA playoffs. . . they lost in the second round to Santa Margarita). Myvett was selected to All-State third team by Cal-Hi Sports, was selected All-Valley by the Times Valley Edition, and played in both the Antelope Valley All-Star game where he led all scorers, but also the LA Times "Battle of the Valley" All-Star game.
