riverside slam n jam roster & results

We've already written about some of these guys, and thus really don't have a lot to add about players like JS Nash, Isaiah Bryant, Antoine Russ, Ryan Rikansrud, or Davell Washington, who were clearly among the standouts on this team, so we'll try to be brief. Coached by Alvin Hunter, this was an excellent team of some really great athletes, including one of the best shooters in the SoCal area, JS Nash, who didn't do much outside shooting this weekend, but who did prove that he can also run the point effectively and slash to the basket and finish (ok, so we will repeat what we said a little, but with Nash it's worth repeating). North Riverside won their pool, going 3-0 against Next Level #1 (the team from NorCal with Brandon Worthy, who North Riverside beat 69-55), the Highlanders who they beat 96-59, and Hoop Ridaz #1, who they beat, 73-71. Unfortunately the reward for winning their pool was even tougher competition in the Gold Bracket against other first place teams, and for North Riverside they were unlucky enough to draw Clovis West, aka the Hustlin' Eagles with Chris Hernandez and Charlie Rodriguez, and while they staged one of the best comebacks we saw this weekend, ultimately Clovis advanced and Riverside was done for the tournament on Sunday night. We hope we get a chance to see these guys again because they were really fun to watch. Here's the complete roster:
