Game Scores and Details From
Monday 1/15/01--(Jan. 17, 2001)

There just a handful of other games played around SoCal besides the big MLK event on Monday at Loyola Marymount University featuring Clovis West, Dominguez, Mater Dei, Mayfair, Fontana, Ayala, Inglewood, Redondo, and Bishop Montgomery and Corona Centennial.  These were the only other games we could find.   If you have the score or details of a game which is not shown below send it in to us either by e-mail or by posting it on the message board.

Third Place Game

Ambassador Christian 46, CSDR 34 -- John Palmer had 20 points and six assists, and Brandon Giden had 14 points and 16 rebounds to lead Fontana Ambassador Christian to victory in the third-place game of the Boys Republic Tournament at Chino Hills. Palmer and Giden were all-tournament selections, as was California School for the Deaf, Riverside's Marco Amaro, who scored 22 points. John Palmer and Brandon Giden from Ambassador Christian and Marco Amaro were named to the All Tournament team. CSDR (34) -- Amaro 22, Bayarsky 6, Scott 4, Smith 2, Alberre 0. Fifth Place Game

Twin Pines 57, Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley 46 --Steven Gonzales scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter as Banning Twin Pines defeated Moreno Valley Calvary Chapel in the fifth-place consoaltion game at the Boys Republic Tournament. Gonzales led the way as Twin Pines outscored Calvary Chapel 24-17 in the final period. Teammate Aaron Johnson scored 16 points and grabbed 20 rebounds, including nine offensive boards, for the Bobcats. Josh Williford scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Calvary Chapel. Aaron Johnson from Twin Pines and Nick Saintano from Calvary Chapel were named to the All Tournament team. Santa Margarita 94, Estancia 40-- Santa Margarita (17-2) cruised to a 94-40 nonleague win Monday night at Santa Margarita. Eliasar Maldonado led Estancia (6-11) with 19 points, all after halftime, while Kenny Valbuena and George Prado added seven apiece for the visitors.  Micah Young (sprained ankle) did not play for Estancia.   Estancia - Maldonado 19, K. Fallbrook 62, Irvine 60 (OT)-- Malike Legree shot a game-winning three point field goal in the last second of play to give Fallbrook an overtime win.  Massud Naderi led the Vaqueros (9-11, 0-2) by scoring 14 points.   David Cox added eitht points and seven rebounds for Irvine.  Fallbrook improved to 12-5 overall with the win.

Westminster 62, Salesian 53-- Westminster improved to 10-11 with the win, and was led in scoring by Marinca with 4 and Graham with 11.   Zamudio scored 18 for Salesian while Harris had 13 and Hernandez 11.
