Who 10 top SoCal boys teams, top players

Ok, let's try this one more time. . . the final "extravaganza" event of the regular high school season in SoCal, and this one will once again feature some of the top teams all playing in the same venue on the same day. . . not a tournament, but a showcase, where college coaches, fans, players, and the just-plain curious, can come out and seem some of the best high school basketball around.   Not necessarily in a classic high school environement (it's always hard to get all but the most dedicated fans out on a Saturday ), but Lynwood has a very nice facility and it's easy to get to. .  .Oh, did we mention the really excellent matchups?

Here's what it will look like:

11:00 a.m. Ontario v. Morningside
1:00 p.m. Artesia v. Santa Margarita
3:00 p.m. Lynwood v. Compton
5:00 p.m. Long Beach Poly v. Corona Centennial
7:00 p.m . Mater Dei v. Los Alamitos

Ok, so these aren't all "all-star" matchups, but they are very good, and most of the games will feature at least one top team from just about every division.  Probably the best matchup, at least in our opinion, will be Long Beach Poly v. Corona Centennial because it is likely to be one of the most evenly matched of the games.  Lynwood v. Compton is a close second, and Ontario v. Morningside offers some interesting man-to-man matchups, but unless Artesia and Los Al play the games of their lives tomorrow and Orange County's No. 1 and No. 2 teams, Mater Dei and Santa Margarita are likely to prevail. . . but that's why they play the games instead of just e-mailing the results. . . sometimes you just never know what's gonna happen. . .

Good games, nice facility, should see some good crowds, and the event is run by some really dedicated folks who have worked hard to put this event together.  Go check it out for yourself.

See you there.
