These archives should be useful for future planning, since many of these events are annual; if you don't see yours listed for the current year, check the archives. Events marked by are NCAA Sanctioned events, and it is likely that the event will be attended by NCAA coaches or scouts. Pursuant to NCAA Bylaws, Division I coaches may only attend sanctioned events.

Long Beach, CA: 6th Annual dada Long Beach Fall Hoops Classic
When: September 11, 12, and 13 at Long Beach City College. The tournament is an "invitation only", and is open to high school and club teams who pay the entry fee of $400.00. Los Angeles, CA: ARC Instructional Academy Fall Session
When: September 12--Registration; Practice Begins September 19, League Play September 27-November 15 Saturday--North Hollywood H.S. 9 A.M.; Olive Recreation Center (Burbank) 11 A.M.; Pierce College 1 P.M. Learn the fundamentals from current and former high school coaches. Develop the skills to become a top high school player. Traveling teams will be formed. Any team can enter league competition. ARC division tournament for all teams after completion of league play, plus eventual regional and national tournaments. Torrance, CA: 4 "D" Stars Fall Developmental League
When: September 13 through November 22, 1998. High School, JV & Varsity, Boys 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. Girls 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th grades, and varsity. games played at Leuzinger & South Bay High Schools. Boys: $550.00 per team; Girls: $425.00 per team. Games are played in 20 minute halves, running clock, and clock stops only in last 2 minutes of the game but only if there is less than a 10 point lead; 2 timeouts per half, no carryover. Carson, CA: Double Pump Boys' & JC Men's Discovery Shootout
When: September 19 & 20 at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Held in "Shootout" format (no foul shooting), this exposure event is by application and is open to high school and high school club teams and JC teams. Individuals not on a team can also enter and they will be placed on a team. The Shootout will feature 32 High School Teams and 12 JC teams, and will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day at the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA. Los Angeles, CA: ARC Future Stars High School JV & Varsity Fall Leagues
When: September 27 through Nov. 15. For grades 9-12. On-site tournament at end of 5 week session of league play. Winners at each site will advance to a regional playoff in order to determine the fall league championship. Played at three locations, North Hollywood High School, Camarillo High School, and Nogales High School. . Registration at North Hollywood, Sunday, September 20 for Boys Varsity and JV and Girls Varsity and JV at 10:00 A.M.; Registration at Camarillo High School on Sunday, September 20 for Boys Varsity and JV and Girls Varsity and JV at 4:00 P.M; and at Nogales High School on Tuesday, September 22 for Boys Varsity and JV and Girls Varsity and JV at 7:00 P.M. Players can join the league as part of a team, or register individually. No limit to the number of players per school who may play on the same team. Cost per team $485 for 10 players; each additional player $48.50. Payment in cash, cashier’s check or money order, payable to "ARC." Teams may use uniforms from previous ARC leagues, or other uniforms, as long as the school name is not on the practice uniform (to comply with CIF rules). Uniforms are available at $10 a set (reversible jersey and shorts) for poly-cotton, or $20 a set for mesh. Play begins one week after registration. Pomona, CA: 2d Annual Empire Slam Fall Boys' & Girls' Varsity Basketball Shootout Tournament
When: September 25, 26, & 27 at various sites in and around Pomona. Division: Boys & Girls Varsity Rules: C.I.F Rules, 16 minute Running Clock, stop clock on free-throws. Tournament Format: Pool play 4 games minimum, top 2 teams in each pool to advance to championship round. Cost: $150.00 Mail or Fax back to: Empire Slam Basketball P.O. Cypress, CA: Double Pump Girls' Discovery Shootout
When: September 26 & 27. Featuring approximately 33 teams. Games will run from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day, at Brethren Christian High School's Warrior Center, located at 6125 Chip Avenue, Cypress, CA.
